The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Local Government Members’ Forum has strongly protested against a news article published by the one of leading newspaper owned by the family of President Ranil Wickremesinghe under the headline, “SJB’s original chairs are being turned upside down.”
In an official statement, the forum accused Wickremesinghe’s faction of attempting to sabotage the emerging SJB-UNP alliance by deliberately spreading misinformation through the one of leading newspaper, which is under the control of his family.
The forum emphasized that the news item published by one of leading newspaper is entirely false and appears to be part of a broader conspiracy orchestrated by Wickremesinghe’s group to disrupt potential political unity.
