A special discussion on the newly imposed tariff policy by the United States of America was held this morning (July 10) at the Presidential Secretariat, under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The meeting focused on evaluating the potential impact of the U.S. tariff measures on Sri Lanka’s economy and trade. Participating in the discussion were key officials including Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development K. A. Wimalenthirajah, and Senior Economic Advisor to the President Duminda Hulangamuwa.
