The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has informed the Fort Magistrate’s Court that an investigation is currently underway into the personal foreign travels of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
According to revelations made in May by Minister Nalinda Jayatissa, the chief organizer of the ruling party, the former president undertook 23 foreign trips between 2022 and 2024, incurring an expenditure of Rs. 1.27 billion.
