The government has reportedly decided to intensify investigations into the massive bond scam that allegedly occurred during the 2015 Yahapalana administration.
One of the key promises made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake upon assuming office was to hold accountable those responsible for the Central Bank bond scam. In line with this commitment, the President took immediate steps to hand over investigations related to 10 major charges to the relevant authorities.
However, there has been little to no progress in these investigations over the past period.
In response, the government has now resolved to recommence the investigations and ensure that all individuals involved in the bond scam are brought to justice—regardless of their position or rank.
