A group of Kandy Police officials have arrested a Chinese man who allegedly sent a drone camera to the Dalada Maligawa premises from a room in a star hotel in Kandy while visiting the first ‘Kubal’procession of the Kandy Esala Festival. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
It has been revealed by the police investigation that the arrested Chinese national had directed the drone camera at around 9.30 pm yesterday (21).
The police say that this forty-three-year-old Chinese national came to Sri Lanka from China on the 20th, and the next day he came to Kandy and stayed at the hotel.
Regarding the incident, investigations are being conducted on the instructions of Kandy Police Headquarters Chief Inspector Rasika Sampath.
