The Speaker informed the Parliament today that the Supreme Court has informed the Parliament that the resolution presented by the members of parliament of Pohottuwa, Jayantha Katagoda and Sanjeewa Edirimanna, to reconvene the dissolved local government bodies, requires a two-thirds approval of the Parliament and a referendum.Sri Lanka Latest News
Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena also informed that the government does not expect to initiate the proposal.
