Applications have been invited from promoters for leasing land owned by the Railway Department.
A senior official said that the private sector has been asked to provide proposals to promote tourism and other activities under it.
He stated that the opportunity for that will remain until the 24th.
Under this, it is expected to lease land near the railway stations of Kompanjaveediya, Kollupitiya, Bambalapitiya and Wellawatta on the Sea Bada line.
Apart from this, applications have been invited for the lease of railway lands related to ecosystems which are a tourist attraction on the upland route.
However, the effectiveness of the project proposals, their contribution to the development process as well as not hindering the services of the Railway Department will be taken into consideration while leasing this land.
