Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage has made an order regarding the allegations that two lives were lost during the suppression of the protests and the tear gas bullets and how they were used.
Accordingly, the director of the Court, Public Order and Management Division has been ordered to give a report within 02 weeks regarding those matters.
The court issued the order after taking into consideration the allegations made by the deceased that the tear gas fired by the police may have caused the death of Nimal Amarasiri, Nivithigala Pradeshiya Sabha candidate of that party, who participated in the protest held in Colombo last February 26.
