On October 2, former minister Mr. Roshan Ranasinghe, along with three other MPs who previously represented the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in the last parliament, officially joined the Mawbima Janata Party at the party’s headquarters in Colombo.
Mr. Ranasinghe, who ran as an independent candidate in the last presidential election, was appointed chairperson of the Mawbima Janata Party during the event.
Additionally, former Minister of State Prof. Vaidya Channa Jayasumana, also a former member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, joined the Mawbima Janata Party and was appointed as the party’s Vice President.
Former Gampaha District MP Mr. Milan Jayathilaka from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna also joined the party today, taking on the role of Gampaha District Organizer.
Furthermore, former Western Provincial Council member Mr. Rajitha Hapuarachchi was appointed as the Katana seat organizer for the Mawbima Janata Party.
