The Foreign Employment Bureau has announced that it has launched investigations into nearly 15 alleged cases of fraud and corruption from previous years.
Chairman Kosala Wickramasinghe reported that the bureau has received a total of 3,040 complaints related to these issues.
“A dedicated unit has received these 3,040 complaints, of which 1,124 can be addressed on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, based on insights from our internal audits, we have identified 15 specific cases warranting further investigation for suspected fraud and corruption. Three of these cases are currently undergoing internal audits, while others are receiving media attention. We are actively gathering information on these cases,” Mr. Wickramasinghe explained.
