Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa Calls for Action on Substandard Medicines, Urges Government to Address Health Crisis
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Specialist Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa, Colombo District Candidate for Samatha Jana Sandhana, has urged President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya to address the plight of hundreds across the island who have suffered due to substandard medicines.

Yesterday, Dr. Sanjeewa submitted a memorandum to both the President and Prime Minister on behalf of patients impacted by these compromised medications. In his appeal, he called for the removal of officials implicated in the substandard medicine scandals, as many remain in their positions, potentially hindering ongoing investigations. He voiced concern that current health authorities are not offering adequate support for these investigations.

Dr. Sanjeewa emphasized his commitment to stand with the people affected by this health crisis, regardless of political affiliations, as the issue transcends party lines and directly impacts the nation’s well-being.
