Former Member of Parliament, Ashu Marasinghe, has submitted three applications under the Right to Information (RTI) Act requesting the educational qualifications, employment history, and asset declarations of all 225 MPs elected to Parliament in the 2024 General Election.
In his applications, Marasinghe has sought the relevant information from the Secretary General of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, the Chairman of the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption, and the Chairman of the Election Commission.
The applications specifically request details regarding the educational backgrounds, employment records, and asset declarations submitted by the 225 newly elected MPs.
