The recent gazette announcement confirms the nomination of Mr Mujibur Rahman by Samagi Jana Balawega to fill the vacant Member of Parliament position previously held by Diana Gamage. Sri Lanka Latest News
This Gazette Notification has been issued per the powers vested in the Election Commission.
According to a decision given by the Supreme Court, the position of Mrs. Diana Gamage was abolished.
Accordingly, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya had informed the Election Commission that Mr Mujibur Rahman, a former Member of Parliament, would be nominated for the vacant post of Member of Parliament.
