Colombo Magistrate Prasanna de Alwis today (19) issued a warrant to arrest MP Wimal Weerawansa, who did not appear in the case against crossing the road during the visit of United Nations High Commissioner Prince Said Al Hussain to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Latest News
In 2016, when the United Nations Human Rights Commissioner, Prince Said Al Hussain, visited Sri Lanka, Wimal Weerawansa is accused of causing public oppression by blocking the roads and protesting in front of the United Nations office in Colombo.
When the complaint was called today, Mr. Wimal Weerawansa, who is named as the first defendant, did not appear in court.
Another defendant in this case, Mr. Weerakumara Dissanayake, also did not appear in court and the lawyer submitted a medical report to the court on his behalf.
