There has been a lot of discussion in the political arena regarding the fact that the majority of the members of the government did not participate in the vote on the President’s budget which was held in Parliament last Tuesday. Sri Lanka Latest News
Although 122 votes were received for the second reading of the budget, only 62 MPs of the ruling party voted for the President’s budget.
It was a special incident that other ruling party MPs did not participate in that event.
Accordingly, it is known that there has been a whisper in various parts of the Parliament regarding whether there is any conflict or crisis between the President and the government.
There were 3 votes against the President’s decree and the number of absent MPs was 159.
