Action was taken on Friday (24) to pass a resolution by the ruling party MPs requesting that opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa be banned from Parliament for two weeks.
The related proposal was submitted to the Parliament by Pohottu MP Premanath C. Dolawatta.
Mr. Milan Jayathilaka, a member of Pohottuwa, had taken steps to approve the proposal.
The Dolawatta member brought this proposal stating that the opposition leader had behaved provocatively.
The ruling party had brought this resolution against the opposition leader based on the heated situation that arose when the opposition leader went to answer the president after he came to the parliament on Friday and made a special statement.
