Western Province Governor Hanif Yusuf has lodged a formal complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in response to allegations that containers were released from the port without inspection.

Addressing the matter in a special statement, Governor Yusuf expressed deep concern over the harm these accusations have caused to his reputation.

He stated:

“In the past few days, I have been subjected to relentless and baseless allegations. This has been ongoing for some time, and I can no longer tolerate it. Today, I visited the CID to officially file a complaint regarding this matter.

“I can no longer remain silent while these defeated groups continue to spread false accusations. As the Governor of the Western Province, I refuse to accept the damage being inflicted on my reputation.”

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to upholding his integrity and vowed to take all necessary steps to clear his name.
