An understanding meeting was held today at the opposition leader’s office to discuss the current problems in the health and education sectors of our country and it was attended by the opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa and the regional director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Mr. Sanjay Wijesekera. Here, the opposition leader commented on how Samagi Jana Balawega will actively contribute to the health and education sectors of Sri Lanka in collaboration with UNICEF, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, strongly requested the UNICEF organization to give maximum support to the UNICEF organization in order to improve the health and education systems of our country.
In this conversation, the nutritional challenges faced by Sri Lankan families and the pressing problems in our disease prevention and treatment and health sectors were also brought to the attention of both sides.
The Regional Director of UNICEF who evaluated the in-depth knowledge of the opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa on these subjects also emphasized the importance of cooperation.
