UNESCO proposes a ban on’smart phones’ in schools I Sri Lanka Latest News

The United Nations recommends that smartphones be banned from school classrooms.

This has been stated in a report prepared by the Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) of that organization.

The organization points out that this decision will be important to prevent conflicts in classrooms, improve children’s learning experience and protect children from cyber fraud.

According to this report of UNESCO, bringing smartphones to classrooms affects children’s academic performance, and children’s emotional stability is affected by spending too much time looking at the phone screen.

However, some people have expressed their opposition to this idea of UNESCO.

They point out that most of the schools in the world are already using modern technology tools in their education and the children are adapting to it.

Also, with this decision banning children from bringing smartphones to school, they further point out that the relationship they have with their parents during the journey from school to home will be hindered, and many children today even pay their public transport fares using smartphones.
