State Minister for Social Empowerment Mr Anupa Pascual said in Parliament today (19) that it has been decided to impose a tax on uncultivated land in this year’s budget. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
He also mentioned that it is suggested that the money earned from that tax be used to improve the farming activities of Samurdhi families.
Mr. Anupa Pascual further stated that public and private lands have been left uncultivated due to various reasons, and the State Plantation Corporation also has hundreds of acres of uncultivated land.
