714 million rupees have already been paid in relation to the destruction of property of 31 members of parliament, and an additional amount of 700 million rupees is to be paid for another 13 members of parliament.
It is reported that the cabinet has also approved the proposal to obtain the relevant additional provisions.
These compensations are to be paid for the damages caused to the private properties of the members of parliament due to the violence from March 31 last year to July 22, 2022.
To be received as an additional provision of Rs. 700 million from the provision of S.M. Chandrasena, Chamal Rajapaksa, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Ali Sabri, Wimal Weerawansa, Kanaka Herath, Sanath Nishantha and Prasanna Ranatunga are to be compensated.
Also, giving the recommendations of the Special Officers Committee for financial compensation for the damages caused to the private properties of the members of parliament. It is scheduled to be completed on the 30th, and giving recommendations for vehicles and movable property is no. 11 days are also proposed to be completed.
