The World Bank’s Vice President for South Asia, Martin Razor, says that in order to be successful, all matters including reforms aimed at protecting vulnerable groups must be done with transparency.

A meeting was held between the Minister of State for Finance Shehan Semasinghe and Mr. Martin Racer during the period between the meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington. In this meeting, renewable energy and the digital economy were discussed as well as small and medium scale businesses based on exports. It is stated in a Twitter message.

Martin Racer has said that he is happy with the progress made in the implementation of reforms in Sri Lanka and that the World Bank will provide ideas and financial support to bring the country back to reality.

Productive meeting today with #SriLanka’s Finance Minister Hon. @ShehanSema and @CBSL Governor Weerasinghe. Glad to see progress on fiscal, financial and economic governance reforms. For full recovery, efforts need to go further – the WBG will support with ideas and financing. pic.twitter.com/CUkWZJJrbN
