The writ petition filed by Retired Army Colonel Mr.W.M.R  Wijesundara in the Supreme Court is scheduled to be called before the Supreme Court tomorrow (20). He requested the authorities including the Chairman of the Election Commission to issue a Writ Order preventing all organizational activities related to the upcoming local government elections.

When the petition was called before the Supreme Court on the 10th, the Supreme Court had set a date for further consideration on the 23rd.

But since the postal polling of the local government election has been fixed on the 23rd, the petitioner colonel requested the court to call his petition before that.

Accordingly, the Supreme Court fixed the date for summoning the petition for tomorrow (20).
