The relics of the Atthanagalla Rajamaha Temple were broken into and the relics, two Buddha statues and some small caskets believed to be of ancient value, were stolen by someone.

According to the police, an offering box in the Dhatu Mandir was broken and the money in it was also stolen.

Alawala Samita Thero, the temple administrator of the Attanagalla Rajamaha temple, has complained to the police about this.

According to the police, it appears that a person entered the Dhatu Mandiraya by opening the window, removing the grill and stealing these items.

According to police sources, when Alawala Samitha Thero opened the door yesterday morning to clean the Dhatu Mandiraya after it was closed on a day last April, he saw that someone had stolen these ancient treasures.
