It is once again stressed that the Sri Lanka army should inform the fate of those who surrendered to the Sri Lanka army during the final phase of the war from the liberation Tamil and other such moments or keep an update about their whereabouts.
When examining three Habeas Corpus applications filed on Friday, February 23rd, the Vavunia high court ordered the Sri Lanka army to produce the disappeared on March 22nd or to produce them to the court if unable to do so and to explain why. During the final phase of the war in the north, relatives of those who surrendered to Sri Lankan forces filled out these Habeas Corpus applications.
The presiding judge informed the court that the verbal evidence provided by the wives of the missing is true and trustworthy.
During the final days of the war, three people surrendered to the army, and nothing is known about them. The three habayas corpus that were examined on this day were of Ponambalam Kandasamy (ksndasamy), Sinathurai Sasidaran (elilan), and Rudramurthy krishnakumar (Colombus).
