The principal forces students to eat polythene and newspapers as a punishment! Two were admitted to the hospital! Sri Lanka Latest News

Due to the reprimand from the principal to seven students; two of them who received the punishment have been hospitalized. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

This incident is reported from Nawalapitiya – Rambukpitiya Central School, which is governed under the Nawalapitiya Zonal Education Office.

It is reported that 33 students are studying in the class where this incident took place and 07 students have brought food wrapped in polythene and newspaper pages.

It has been alleged that when the seven students were putting the polythene and newspaper pages they had brought back from home in their school bags after having lunch, the principal who came to the place took them out and instructed all seven of them to eat them immediately.

It is reported that the seven students have eaten polythene and newspapers on the instructions of the principal.

Among the seven children who ate polythene and newspapers, one child was admitted by their parents to Nawalapitiya District General Hospital with symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting and sore throat.

The Nawalapitiya police have started investigations based on a complaint made to the Nawalapitiya police by the father of a student who is being treated in the hospital regarding the incident.
