A peaceful protest was held in front of St. Sebastian Shrine in Katuwapitiya this morning (03).Sri Lanka Latest News

That is against the statements made by the United Fishermen’s Society of Pitipana Meesame that the Archbishop’s action regarding the auction incident is disrespectful to the Catholic religion.

There is currently a strong disagreement regarding the rights to the Negombo Pitipana Lellama.

There is also a legal case regarding its ownership, and the Catholic Church stated that it took legal action to take over the hull for the welfare of the greater number of fishermen.

However, the United Fishermen’s Society of Pitipana Meesame called a news conference and stated recently that the action of the Archbishop regarding the auction incident is also disrespectful to the Catholic religion.

Against this backdrop, a peaceful protest was held in front of St. Sebastian’s shrine in Katuwapitiya in strong protest against the false statements made against His Holiness Cardinal Ranjith and the Catholic people of Katuwapitiya.
