Parliamentary debate on the increase of the VAT up to 18% was stopped without seeing an end today. Sri Lanka Latest News

The reason was that there was no solid plenary in the council.

Here, the opposition, the opposition leader, had taken steps to strategically withdraw from the council and after Mr. Naleen Bandara said that the ruling party members had missed today’s debate, which was a very important matter, the plenary session was held.

Accordingly, despite waiting for a moment until the quorum was complete, the Parliament was adjourned until tomorrow as the members did not come to the House.

Deputy Speaker Mr. Ajith Rajapaksa said that due to the lack of quorum, the proceedings of the Parliament will be postponed until 09.30 am tomorrow (11).
