The Samagi Jana Balawegaya has sent a letter to the Chairman of the Election Commission that in the event that nominations have been submitted for the local government elections, the heads of the local government institutions that have submitted the nominations will continue to use the official vehicles and other resources of the council.

The article is below.

24.01.2023
Chairman,
Election Commission,
Rajagiriya.

Misappropriation of public property by heads of local governments.

We have observed that when the nominations have been handed over for the local government election, the heads of the local government institutions who have handed over the nominations continue to use the official vehicles and other resources of the council.

This is not in accordance with the election law and is a serious prejudice to other candidates, so I kindly inform you to take the necessary steps to stop this.

Ranjith Madduma Bandara (P.M.)
Secretary General
United People’s Force.
