Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has informed the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs, Ranjith Asoka, to conduct an investigation and submit a report regarding the accusation against Umara.
The Secretary has informed the Investigation Unit of the Ministry to carry out the investigation, and accordingly Umara Sinhawansa has been informed to come to the Ministry today.
It is reported that an additional secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs and an Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Education are going to conduct this investigation, and they are going to find out whether there has been a violation of the Constitution.
After the investigation, the relevant report will be handed over to the Ministry Secretary and then the Attorney General will be consulted.
