The Health Promotion Bureau has made a special awareness about avoiding health problems caused by high temperature.

Accordingly, the Bureau has informed that the following steps are being followed “with strict attention”.

Drink as much water as possible (at least 2.5 liters per day for an adult) without stopping until you feel thirsty.

For thirst, avoid drinking sweet drinks instead of water

Minimize time spent in excessive sun exposure between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Sticking to light colored light cotton clothes as much as possible

Using umbrellas and hats whenever possible while hanging out outdoors

Elderly or sick people as well as young children are at higher risk of being affected under this condition, so take special care of them.

The Health Promotion Bureau noted that this risk situation is heightened with the extremely dry weather prevailing in many parts of the island (especially on the western and southern coasts) with temperatures rising significantly above normal.
