The Pohottuwa MPs have asked the President about what happened to the investigations that the Criminal Investigation Department said was being conducted regarding the burning of their houses during the aragalaya.
The MPs have asked the President about this in the ruling party MP group meeting held yesterday.
They have pointed out that Mr. Wasantha Karnagoda, the former governor of the North West, submitted a report in this regard, and a large number of MPs filed lawsuits in court accordingly.
The MPs have pointed out to the President that despite the assurance given by the Criminal Investigation Department that an investigation will be conducted in this regard, all the cases were withdrawn in consultation with the Attorney General, but even though several months have passed, a proper investigation has not yet taken place.
However, it is reported that the President has stated that he was not aware of this and that he will investigate the matter.
