The former President of the Bar Association President’s Counsel Mr. Saliya Peiris said that the executive is preparing to oppress the judges by obstructing the independence of the judiciary and that the executive cannot be allowed to play with the judiciary.
Mr. Saliya Peiris mentioned this in his speech before the Matara Bar Association.
He further said that if the executive does not bow down to a court decision, how can one expect the common people will respect the court decisions.
