The Election Commission’s chairman, Mr. R.M.A.L. Ratnayake, stated that they were called to discuss the preparations required to hold a free and fair election.
He stated that it is anticipated that the country’s current legal framework will be reaffirmed to them in connection with the announcement of the presidential election.
Next week, the conversation will take place.
In the meantime, the heads of state and semi-state institutions are expected to be summoned to Colombo to brief them on the election law, according to the Election Commission.
