A special discussion regarding the announcement of the date of the local government election is scheduled to be held today (07) at the Election Commission.
The Election Commission stated that the discussion will be held today at around 10.30 am.
The Finance Ministry Secretary, the Government Printer and the Inspector General of Police have been summoned to the Election Commission for the relevant discussion.
Also, the members of the Election Commission will meet separately and discuss today regarding the holding of the local government elections.
Meanwhile, a group of opposition MPs are scheduled to meet the Election Commission today to discuss the announcement of the date of the local government election.
