The Court of Appeal ordered the adjournment of the decision on the petition filed for the issuance of a writ to revoke the position of State Minister Diana Gamage as a Member of Parliament until the 25th of July.
The verdict was scheduled to be announced today (06).
But the President of the Court of Appeal, Judge Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne and the bench consisting of Mr. A . Marikkar announced that the pronouncement of the relevant decision was adjourned until July 25.
The petition was submitted by Mr. Oshala Herath, a social activist.
He had submitted the petition requesting that it be ruled that State Minister Diana Gamage is not eligible to sit in the Parliament of this country as she is a holder of British citizenship.
