It’s been raining in Galle since last night! Yellow warnings have been issued! Stay causiouse! I Sri Lanka Latest News

The Nilwala River has reached the overflow level in several areas with the heavy rains that have been falling in Galle and Matara districts since last night (05).
As a result, it is reported that many low-lying areas are under water.

Akurassa – Siyambalagoda main road is flooded in Panadugama area.

As a result, traffic on the road has been disrupted.

Meanwhile, the Navy says that 4 Navy relief teams have been deployed to provide relief to the people affected by the heavy rains.

Navy spokesperson Captain Gayan Wickramasuriya stated that relief teams have been deployed to the relevant areas since the 4th.

In the meantime, yellow notices have been issued to Matugama and Palindaranuwara regional secretariats in Kalutara district to pay attention to landslides.

The National Building Research Organization said that the landslide warnings issued for Passara in Badulla District, Neluwa, Nagoda and Elpitiya in Galle District, Palindanuvara, Valallavita, Agalawatta and Bulathsinhala Divisional Secretariat Divisions in Kalutara District will continue to operate.

The Department of Meteorology said that some places in Sabaragamuwa province, Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts may experience heavy rain of more than 75 mm.
