The Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekara said that the CPC refinery commenced operations today (20).
Accordingly, the Minister that 100,000 MTs of crude oil is being discharged, while the authorities expect to have the second crude oil cargo of 120,000 MTs next week.
Therefore, the CPC refinery will be able to continue operations at full capacity for 40 days with the aid of the two cargos.
The Minister added that jet fuel cargo will be unloaded tonight (20).
