Tamils from the North and East held a protest march yesterday, demanding justice for their disappeared relatives, marking the International Day of the Enforced Disappearances.
The march began at Jaffna Kittu Park and proceeded to Chemmani. Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) General Secretary Ananda Sangaree and former Member of Parliament M.K. Swajilingam also took part in the demonstration.
Meanwhile, the National Ceremony to commemorate the International Day of the Disappeared was organized by the Office on Missing Persons at the Conference Hall of Temple Trees. Around 500 family members of the disappeared participated in the event.
