The Russian Foreign Ministry recognises that the deteriorating situation in Sri Lanka is an internal matter.
According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, “we believe the situation that is developing in Sri Lanka is their internal affair, and as a friendly nation to us, we trust their political matters would take more acceptable shape according to the constitution and progressive laws and enactments of the nation.”
We also believe that the situation will return to normalcy soon.
She went on to say that Sri Lankan authorities must take steps to get out of their current economic crisis.
