Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has declared a state of emergency in the country and called for the imposition of curfew in the Western Province, it is learnt.
The Prime Minister’s Media Division said that instructions have been issued to arrest any person violating the curfew and heavy vehicles that are on the roads during the time of the curfew.
The time of lifting the curfew is to be announced later.
