The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) reached a new milestone today (14th January 2026) with the All-Share Price Index (ASPI) closing on 23,708.70points breaking the previous ASPI record of 23,659.70 set on 12th November 2025.

On the previous trading day, 13th January 2026, the market closed with a daily average turnover as of 6.07 Bn compared to the daily average turnover of the last trading day of 2025 which stood at 5.18 Bn, representing a 17.18% increase.

The milestone reflects a robust investor confidence across the market, marking a definitive start to the 2026 trading year.
