The Sri Lanka Police, in collaboration with the CLEANSRILANKA program, has issued a public notice through the Police Media Division refuting an audio clip circulating on social media about the program. According to the statement, the audio clip is false and misleading.
The Police clarified that the fabricated audio claims people are being instructed on maintaining cleanliness in front of their homes and warns of legal action against non-compliance after the 15th of this month. However, the Police emphasized that no such message has been issued by their department.
In response to this misinformation, the Police Media Division has initiated an investigation to identify and take legal action against the individual responsible for creating and disseminating the false audio clip.
