Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya hosted Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan during his ongoing official visit to Sri Lanka, in a meeting that underscored the enduring ties between the two neighbouring nations.

The discussions centered on the long-standing civilizational links shared by Sri Lanka and India, with both leaders reflecting on the deep-rooted cultural, historical, and social connections that continue to shape bilateral relations.

Emphasizing the importance of strengthening engagement, the leaders explored avenues to further enhance cooperation, particularly in fostering closer people-to-people ties. The meeting also highlighted a mutual commitment to building on existing partnerships and expanding collaboration across multiple sectors.

The visit of Vice President Radhakrishnan is seen as a significant step in reinforcing diplomatic relations, as both sides look to deepen cooperation grounded in shared heritage and mutual interests.
