Sri Lanka beat India today in their Super-4 encounter of Asia Cup 2022, played at the Dubai International Cricket Ground as they chased down a score of 170+ for the 3rd consecutive time.

Kusal Mendis top scored with 57 off 37 balls with the bat and new comer Dilshan Madushanka produced a superb spell of 24 for 2 in his four overs, including the priced wicket of Virat Kohli.

Openers once again gave a superb start for Sri Lanka putting on an impressive 97 off just 11.1 overs.

It soon became 110/4 in 14.1 overs as Sri Lanka wasted a great start and lost 4 wickets for just 13 runs.

However, Captain Dasun Shanaka (33) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (25) guided the Lankans with a counter-attacking partnership of 64 off just 5.4 overs

Earlier in the 1st innings, captain Rohit Sharma top scored for India with 72 off just 41 deliveries.

With the loss today, India now have to beat Afghanistan and rely on other results to go their way to get a chance to qualify for the finals of the Asia Cup 2022, while Sri Lanka are in a great position, leading the table.

India – 173/8 (20)
Sri Lanka – 174/4 (19.5)
