Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage has announced that the name of the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium is set to be changed in the near future.
The stadium, which is currently in a severely dilapidated condition, has reportedly led to the wastage of a significant amount of public funds. Addressing the issue, the Minister stated that no investor is willing to allocate resources to maintain sports facilities under the name of Mahinda Rajapaksa. As a result, a decision has been made to remove the name associated with the stadium.
