A special committee has been appointed by the Inspector General of Police, Deshbandhu Tennakoon, to conduct investigations regarding the four Sri Lankans linked to the IS terrorist organization who were arrested at Ahmedabad Airport in India while they were there for an attack.
Police Media Spokesperson DIG Advocate Nihal Talduwa said that the committee has been appointed under the leadership of the Deputy Inspector General of the Criminal Investigation Department and the Director of the Terrorism Investigation Division.
These four Sri Lankans were arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Unit of Gujarati State at Ahmedabad Airport on the 20th.
Indian security intelligence agencies have revealed information that they were preparing to carry out a suicide attack in India.
The four arrested suspects are residents of Negombo and Colombo.
Terrorist investigations in Sri Lanka and several other investigative departments have started separate investigations regarding those four.
