Speaker of Parliament Mr. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said that the statement made by Member of Parliament Mr. Udaya Gammanpila regarding the Central Bank Bill proposed to be submitted to the Parliament is completely false and misleading of the country’s judiciary.
The speaker informs that if the speaker expresses his opinion on a certain matter, as a responsible member of parliament, Mr. Udaya Gammanpila should first consulted the relevant recorded audio-visual media recorded by Hansard as its source.
The speaker further informs that he reject Gammanpila’s baseless attempt to mislead the public to achieve narrow political goals by misrepresenting someone else’s statement.
