Dr. Omalpe Sobitha Thero said that Minister Kanchana Wijesekera shows the cabinet that the price of one metric ton of coal is US$ 330 US dollars and but the actual cost of it to the country is US$ 220.

He also pointed out that the country will suffer a loss of 7400 crores through that.

Sobitha Thero further said, “I appeal to this government not to unduly tax people to cover the losses in the electricity board.” We are now able to expose yet another ministry scam.

At the moment, 32 coal shipments are in the process of being unloaded. Despite the fact that the minister shows the price of coal as US $ 330, to the cabinet of ministers but the actual cost is US $ 220, we question whether the minister is not committing a US $100 fraud and that this fraudulent deal will cost the country a colossal amount of Rs. 7400 crores.

To cover up the CEB’s losses, taxing people cannot be justified. We question the minister on how he can justify this. He concluded that the government should make decisions without burdening the people.
