Mr. Maithreepala Sirisena has decided to convene a special party central committee meeting this afternoon (19).
It is believed the candidate whom the SLFP would support during tomorrow’s presidential voting would be decided at this gathering.
However, it is anticipated that at the meeting, a decision on who to support would be made jointly even though Chamara Sampath, a SLFP MP, has stated in an earlier occasion that he would support Mr. Ranil Wickramasinge’s candidacy.
There are signs that the SLFP would back Mr. Dallas Alahpperuma as a candidate.
